The story goes that back in the day, Bowling Green High School and Male High School in Louisville teamed up to create more rigorous academic standards, and as a symbol of their collaboration, they chose the colors Royal Purple and Old Gold, along with the mascot "Purples"⭐. What's really interesting is that even though Male High School later changed their mascot to the Bulldog, Bowling Green High School stuck with the Purples, keeping that rich history alive.
