At Franconia Elementary, for instance, they've recently adopted the Penguin as their official mascot, and it's been a big hit. This cute and charming bird is prob the last thing you'd associate with Virginia, but it's a great reminder that school spirit can come in many forms. Another notable penguin mascot is Admiral Byrdy, or "Tux," from the Fairfax County Library, who debuted in 2013 and has been a fan favorite ever since. So, the next time you think of mascots, don't forget these cool penguins rocking their tuxedos and bringing school pride to a whole new level 🐦.
