Meet Willie the Wave, the energetic and spirited mascot of Pepperdine University in California Unlike many school mascots that are animals or people, Willie represents the concept of ocean waves, which is pretty cool and unique. The idea of a wave as a mascot prob stems from Pepperdine's location near the Pacific Ocean and the school's colors, blue and orange, which symbolize the ocean and California's oranges. Willie has gone through several costume changes over the years, from a papier-mâché mask to a more modern version with a big wave head and boardshorts [ICON_surfing]. Despite the changes, Willie remains a symbol of school spirit and creativity, showing how much students care about their team 🏆.
