The Hartford Indians mascot, though it may seem like a common name, has a significant history, especially in Michigan. Until recently, Hartford Public Schools in Michigan used the Indians as their mascot, but it's a name that's been phased out due to concerns about cultural sensitivity and respect. The decision to retire the Indians mascot was made after careful consideration and input from the community, students, and even local Native American tribes. This change highlights the importance of being respectful and inclusive in our school spirit. Now, the school is known as the Hartford Huskies 🦴, a new mascot that aims to unite the community with a fresh and proud identity.
